Carine Roitfeld's Paris Apartment Brims With Luxury and Art
A Showcase of Timeless Elegance
After 25 years of living in the same apartment, Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris and founder of CR Fashion Book, decided to revamp her living space by incorporating a blend of classic style and artwork from her own collection.
She collaborated with Laurent Buttazzoni, a renowned architect, to remodel the apartment while emphasizing her personal aesthetic.
The Apartment’s Elegant Decor
Once you step into the apartment, the first thing you see is a statue by Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti. A painting by Allen Jones called 'First Step' follows. This setting is completed by silk rugs, velvet pillows, soft lighting and 70s-era designs.
Inside the rooms, other prestigious works of art are displayed including Christian Bérard's drawings, Gardar Eide Einarsson's neon installations, and works from John Baldessari - truly a sanctum for art lovers.
Restricted Modernism with Artworks
The whole apartment breathes Carine Roitfeld’s personal style of "restricted modernism". In her words, she 'likes things that are very clean, very clear, but also very cosy.'
The décor and artwork fuse to create an atmosphere that is simultaneously warm and classy, embodying Roitfeld's personal ethos and minimalist tastes.
