Immerse in the World of Colours at the "Colours of Our Time" Exhibition

A Journey into the Colourful Past

The "Colours of Our Time" exhibition takes a deep dive back to the 1990s, exploring the intense vibrant colours such as blue and red of the era while also showcasing the timeless beauty of transparent plastics like PMMA and polycarbonate. These materials were popular in various designs of the time, from lights, computers, glasses, to tableware, defining the colour trends of the millennial generation as the 21st century dawned.

The Award-Winning Products of the Exhibition

The exhibition, located in Essen, Germany's Red Dot Design Museum, isn't just about colours, though. It also highlights various exceptional designs that have won the prestigious Red Dot Award over the years:

  • Apple's in-house designed iMac G3 computer, from 2000
  • The Basic insulated carafe by Alfi, a 1991 Red Dot Winner, designed by Ross Lovegrove and Julian Brown
  • The 'Miss K' table lamp from Flos, a Red Dot Winner in 2004, by Philippe Starck
