The Red Dot Gala 2024 celebrated the best in product design in a grand ceremony. The event was hosted by Professor Dr. Peter Zec, the founder and CEO of Red Dot. A plethora of esteemed guests graced the evening, making it a memorable night for the design fraternity.
A Welcome By Leader and Where It Happened
Thomas Kufen, the Lord Mayor of Essen, had the honour of welcoming the guests at the venue, the Aalto Musiktheater Essen. After the welcome, the spotlight shifted to recognising the best in global design.
Recognition of the Best of the Best
In a pivotal moment of the ceremony, the winners of the "Best of the Best" category were brought to stage. The Red Dot Trophy was presented to the winners by our esteemed jurors Luisa Bocchietto, Barzaza, and Nina Wilsonic, acknowledging their outstanding design contributions.
Design Team of the Year: The Thule Design Team
The coveted 'Radius' challenge trophy, presented to the Design Team of the Year since 1988, was awarded to the Thule Design Team this year. They received a fantastic ovation as they accepted the reward on stage.
Designers’ Night: A Social Gathering After the Award Ceremony
Culminating the evening was the Designers' Night held at the Red Dot Design Museum, located at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Zeche Zollverein. The event brought together the design community, promoting networking and camaraderie.
