Madina Visconti di Modrone Reinvents Milan Apartment With New Covid-19-Inspired Design
An Oasis of Tranquility Offering Protection from Current World's Turmoil
Our lives have dramatically been reshaped by the Covid-19 pandemic and those changes have inevitably influenced the way we view and use our homes. Italian jewellery designer, Madina Visconti di Modrone, has taken this shift to heart, transforming her Milan apartment into a sanctuary reflecting our current reality.
Madina turned her house into a retreat space, a place not just to live, but to combine professional and personal life harmoniously. Inspired by the isolation during the lockdown, she initiated a redecoration of her apartment with the assistance of her husband, Gabriele di Palma, which began with her decision to paint every room a different color.
Design Choices Reflecting Pandemic's Impact
Madina's choices, from the bright yellow kitchen that stimulates creativity, to the relaxing green home office, and the soothing blue bedrooms all embody an emotion. Every room tells a story, captures a mood, caters to different emotional states reflecting our different needs during this pandemic era.
Fusion of Family Heirlooms & Contemporary Pieces
Her décor combines family heirlooms with contemporary pieces and uses flower-patterned textiles to make each room distinct, yet complementary. Antique furniture coexists with modern design objects remarkably, giving each room a distinctive character and enhancing the apartment's homely atmosphere.
- A retro crystal chandelier over a round marble table illuminates the dining room.
- A 1970s bookcase housing Madina's precious objects in the living room.
- The bathroom is adorned with an oversized portrait of a young woman with violet hair.
Madina's Covid-19 Era Redecorated Interior, a Harmonious Coexistence
Madina's pre-pandemic house now turned into a revivifying abode, is a perfect fusion of colors, patterns, precious heirlooms and design pieces. It provides a sense of sanctuary and creativity, amid the current global turmoil and uncertainty, inspired and redesigned for the Covid-19 era.
